I had the original power wand, but I don't have any carpet. After a few years, the cord got stuck in the adjustable power wand and became unusable. I found this unit here and have been using it ever since.

I have had it for a while now. I use the vacuum at least twice per week, and I adjust the length constantly. The wand has never failed to extend or retract as needed and it is lighter than the power wand. If you must use the power head, you need a power wand and will have to pay the high price for that, but if you just have wood and tile floors like me, you can replace the power wand with this non powered wand without any trouble, and it is lighter too.

I wish I could give this zero stars. I didn't buy it here. I bought it at a home improvement store with no payments or interest for a year so I still have to pay for this piece of junk. I've had it almost a year now and hate it. Where to start...1)The attachment for animal hair is driven by the suction, no belt, it stops turning as soon as you put it on the furniture, useless. 2)It is very noisey, the least little thing around the brush causes this awful ratcheting noise. 3) Corner cleaning is non-exsistent. 4)The suction is great, if you can keep all the holes aligned. 5) The hose and attachments are cumbersome and a pain to use. The suction is so great that it actually hurts my hand to use the attachments and try to extend the hose. 6) The cord (a piece of electrical wire) is always tangled. 7) Pieces of the vacuum keep falling off. The canister isn't even fitting snugly any more. (And I clean it constantly) I use to wonder how my mother got duped into buying that expensive Rainbow, now I know. Save your money, a Dyson IS NOT worth the price! I feel totally ripped off and I THINK THINGS SHOULD WORK RIGHT!

The Earthbound Rocket

While supercar is a subjective designation and the characteristics change from decade to decade most of the 'ten top' lists include cars with very high hp engines, 2-meter wide bodies and rear wheels mounted with 335 mm tires. However, rules were meant to be broken particularly when the rules are flexible to begin with. So enter the Rocket.

The Rocket's body style is as far away from the Super Ferraris and Lamborghini's as one can get and still be a car. The hood resembles the end of a vacuum cleaner wand while the chassis is cigar shaped. The wheels and suspension linkages are exposed. The cockpit is enclosed on the sides but open on top and there is no windscreen so the driver is always exposed to the elements. The name is appropriate since the body does resemble a rocket lying on its side on wheels.

It was the brainchild of a former racing driver named Chris Craft. It was also his first project. Although Craft considered himself a good craftsmen, he was fully aware that we was not a car designer so Craft hired Gordon Murray to design the Rocket.

Gordon Murray is considered a top Formula One chief designer and his cars have won five world championships. Murray was also responsible for the McLaren F1 road car.

One can therefore expect that the Formula One philosophy will be expressed in the Rocket. And it is. The narrow body, exposed wheels and suspension linkages, open cockpit with no windscreen are considered to be pure Formula 1. Also true to Formula One, the chassis is constructed from nickel-bronze as a space frame, covered with light alloy inner panels and glass-fiber out panels. The engine is utilized as a stress structure to support the rear suspensions.

The Rocket is powered by a Yamaha motorcycle engine FZR 1000's 1002 cc straight 4 with 5 valves per cylinder. It is capable of a maximum power of 143 hp at 10,500 rpm, and 77-lbft torque at 8,500 rpm.

The engine is paired with a 5-speed sequential Yamaha gearbox, and then to a special final drive that incorporated limited slip differential and reverse gear. The gearbox had no reverse.

The Rocket was extremely light weighing only 400 kg. This provided an optimal power-to-weight ratio. It also gave the Rocket outstanding maneuvering and braking capabilities.

The brakes were front ventilated, cross-drilled discs with 4-piston Brembo calipers; rear cross-drilled discs with 2-piston Brembo calipers.

As tested by Autocar, the Rocket could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and had a top speed of 129 mph.

The Rocket can still be purchased on special order but the price is very high, in the same range as the Lotus Esprit GT3. However, since it accommodates only one passenger, offers no protection from the elements and has no storage space it would certainly not be practical for every day commuting. There is a saying that "the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys." This applies to women as well. The Rocket is a fun car, a toy for those who can afford the price. However, it would be fun to drive if only one time.

How To Clean Your Bathroom

How do you maintain a clean toilet and bathroom? As a rule, an integrated cleaning of bathrooms should be done once or periodically (weekly, monthly). It is repeated within a considerable period of time and can be either optional or complete.

Avoid contrast change of water temperature when washing your tub; otherwise surface cracks are likely to appear on the enamel surface.

Even though, a thorough cleaning should be done periodically, a good daily cleaning will make the periodical cleaning less tedious. Here are a few quick tips for daily cleaning.

1. Keep a container of glass cleaner wipes in the bathroom cabinet. Use these to quickly wipe down the mirror, rinse out the sink and wipe the faucets and the counter top daily. Once you're complete, throw that wipe away and get another one to wipe the back of the toilet, the shower rod and any small counter top items.

2. Empty the garbage can and put in a fresh scented bag.

3. With another new wipe, clean the toilet seat, under it and the inside of the bowl.

Concerning floors, things are a bit easier here. Floor ceramic tile is easy to clean. The only problem with this type of floor is tile-to-tile gaps: in a few weeks, they are polluted, get darker, and their cleaning requires greater efforts and much time. Depending on the quality of tile it is recommended to apply polymer protective coatings on the tile-to-tile gaps or on the entire surface of the floor.

Here is one more little tip concerning cleaning of surfaces with special cloth or towel. A good towel for cleaning is considered to be a towel with a large surface area to absorb and collect water with detergent, as well as hair, dust and dirt, fourfold the towel, and then you will get 8 different (clean) surfaces to be used.
